Two men have been arrested for allegedly setting fire to a Bangor home late last month.
Joshua Fletcher, 19, and Eric Hasenbank, 41, have been charged with arson, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Fletcher and Hasenbank allegedly set fire to a house on Elm Street in Bangor’s Tree Streets neighborhood about 3:45 a.m. on Aug. 31. Two people who were inside the home at the time of the fire escaped without injury, Moss said Friday afternoon.
An investigation by the Maine fire marshal’s office determined the fire was intentionally set, according to Moss.
Fletcher was arrested Friday at a youth shelter in Bangor, while Hasenbank was arrested Thursday at his home in Harrington in Washington County on Thursday,
Fletcher and Hasenbank are being held at the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor.
Authorities continue to search for a woman named Shelby, whom Moss described as being approximately 50 years old, white, and having a slender build and reddish or brown shoulder-length hair. The woman is known to frequent the area near the Hope House Health and Living Center on Corporate Drive in Bangor.
