A downtown Bangor jewelry store will hold a sale featuring more than 600 antique, contemporary estate and designer pieces, some of which was previously owned by celebrities such as Elvis and Micheal Jackson.
Designs by Aaron at 8 Merchants Plaza will host the event on Tuesday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The approximately 650 jewelry pieces included in the sale are provided by Singer Estate Collection, a New York-based company that offers one-day jewelry trunk shows in retail stores.
The jewelry included in the event will be for sale with prices starting at $650. The one-of-a-kind pieces in the multi-million dollar collection were gathered from private collections, banks and auctions across five continents.
While the Bangor store doesn’t know exactly which jewelry pieces will be included in the event next week, Singer Estate’s jewelry collection includes pieces previously owned by Elvis, Christine McVie, Don Mclean, Betty White, Janet Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson and Mary Pickford, among others. Some of the antique jewelry featured in the collection dates back to the 1880s.
This will be the second year Designs by Aaron hosts the jewelry show and sale, but the business hopes to make the event an annual tradition, according to Arikka James, who co-owns the business with her husband, Aaron James. The event also gives the business the opportunity to offer different, unique pieces than what it typically keeps in stock.
“To see the pieces they bring is like walking through a jewelry museum,” James said. “It’s also a fun event and gets new customers in the door.”
Veronica Druchniak, Miss Maine 2023, will make an appearance during the Singer Estate event from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Druchniak was crowned Miss Maine in June and will compete in the Miss America competition next year.
