The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency on Tuesday released more details about an incident in Milford on Monday that involved weapons, prompted a shelter-in-place order, and ended with two men being arrested.
Ernest Newson, 45, of Utica, New York, and Brian Corvino, 35, of Milford were charged with robbery and drug trafficking offenses related to a failed drug transaction involving firearms inside a home at 92 Bradley Road in Milford, according to the MDEA.
The agency had been investigating suspected drug trafficking at the residence for several months. On Monday afternoon, MDEA investigators and deputies from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office learned that a person who they believed was at the residence to buy illegal drugs was robbed at gunpoint by two people in the house, later found to be Newson and Corvino.
Agents searched the property and seized a 9mm handgun and a BB gun pistol that they say closely resembled a semi-automatic handgun.
Newson and Corvino were brought to the Penobscot County Jail where they are being held without bail until their initial appearance in court.
