Foreign Secretary James Cleverly had to run for cover in Israel, with air raid sirens heard ringing out in the background warning of an incoming rocket attack.
The government minister arrived in the country earlier on Wednesday.
The Foreign Office said he is there to show support for Israel following the Hamas incursion.
“The foreign secretary has arrived in Israel today to demonstrate the UK’s unwavering solidarity with the Israeli people following Hamas’s terrorist attacks,” a statement read.
“He will be meeting survivors of the attacks and senior Israeli leaders to outline UK support for Israel’s right to defend itself.”
