The intersection of Hancock and Birch streets was closed Thursday morning starting around 10 a.m. after someone reported being threatened with a weapon.
Seven Bangor Police Department cruisers patrolled the area near 385 Hancock St. and deemed it not safe.
No one came out of the building willingly, so police surrounded the house and are ordering people out one by one, according to Sgt. Jason McAmbley, a spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department.
Eleven people walked out of a house on Hancock Street with their hands up starting around 10:30 a.m. Police searched them as they emerged from the building.
Among the people who were cleared from the building, police found three had active warrants and will be arrested and taken to the Penobscot County Jail, McAmbley said.
A Bangor police officer with a rifle was watching the house as other officers stood around the corner.
