José Altuve met his wife, Nina Altuve, while growing up in Venezuela and they’ve been going strong since.
Before making his Major League debut with the Houston Astros in 2011, José reportedly wed Nina in 2006. Since his introduction to the MLB, the second baseman has represented the Astros in several All-Star games and won several awards throughout his career — and Nina has been cheering him on from Opening Day to the World Series.
In 2017, Nina shared a throwback photo of the couple at a young age via Instagram, “A relic here When @josealtuve27 and I didn’t eat,” she wrote in Spanish.
After being married for 10 years, the couple welcomed their first child in November 2016, a daughter named Melanie Andrea. Four years later, the couple welcomed a second daughter — whose name has not been shared — in summer 2020.
