Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle is operating as normal following a reported lockdown on Thursday morning.
“Everyone is safe and classes are back open,” Dean of Development Griffin Goins said.
He declined to specify the nature of the incident, but said more information will be forthcoming after college officials determine next steps.
Campus officials notified the college community at 9:51 a.m. that a situation was occurring on or near the campus that required everyone to lock down and stay in place.
“We are still on lockdown, but the situation is being resolved and is under control,” the campus posted on social media at approximately 10:45 a.m.
Presque Isle police investigated a “call for service” in the area of the campus, the department posted on social media.
A Presque Isle dispatcher could provide no information other than there is no threat to the public.
