State officials and police destroyed more than 200 pounds of illegally grown marijuana Tuesday afternoon in Wilton worth an estimated $1 million.
Wilton police and the Maine Office of Cannabis were doing a routine follow-up inspection at a licensed marijuana cultivation facility on Weld Road.
While doing the inspection, officials got information about an unlicensed facility in a different building on the same property.
That’s when officials discovered the illegal marijuana, which included more than 1,200 plants.
The names of those involved are not being released at this time.
The owner of the property has no connections to either marijuana facility.
The investigation is ongoing.
