ROCKLAND, Maine — Police say they are looking for a clumsy thief who was caught on camera slipping and dropping cartons of cigarettes while trying to steal from a smoke shop in Rockland.
Police say they responded to a “smash and grab” burglary at the Maine Smoke Shop on Park Street on Tuesday around 9:30 p.m.
The suspect fled just prior to law enforcement arrival.
The suspect was not able to take a lot of cigarettes as they fled because of the lack of coordination, but a significant amount of damage was done to the store’s interior.
Additional security footage is being reviewed and an investigation is ongoing.
