The Starknet Foundation has officially confirmed that it completed the snapshot for its upcoming STRK token airdrop, as announced in a Dec, 1st update on X.
“Please note that the screenshots contained draft plans that are still under development. The cut-off for any criteria used to determine who may receive tokens or how many tokens is in the past and no actions or activity now can impact eligibility in any way. We will share the finalized official criteria and details around the provision allocations when they are ready.”
STRK token is still in the works
Meanwhile, the Ethereum-based layer-2 network confirmed that it intends to distribute tokens to specific users and contributors eventually. However, no definitive decisions have been made yet about this distribution.
According to the Foundation, it is still planning on how to distribute the tokens to certain users/contributors based on their past activities, adding that its technical teams have been experimenting with various interfaces, some of which may become public while others might not.
This clarification follows the circulation of several screenshots on social media showcasing a purported distribution portal for the STRK token. These images stirred significant attention from the community because StarkWare, the developers of Starknet, had initially hinted at a potential token launch last year.
Nonetheless, the Starknet Foundation emphasized that the screenshots represent an early version and do not necessarily reflect the final product. “Please note that the screenshots contained draft plans that are still under development,” the Foundation asserted.
Starknet has been operational since February 2022 and ranks among the top ten layer-2 networks based on total value locked, according to data from L2beat.
Additionally, the Foundation cautioned users to remain vigilant against potential scams that often emerge alongside airdrop announcements.
