Hundreds of people lined downtown Bangor to watch as a parade of colorful floats traveled through the city to kick off the holiday season with Santa and Mrs. Claus on hand to light up Bangor’s holiday tree.
People bundled up in their coats to watch the Bangor Rotary’s annual Festival of Lights parade march from Exchange Street through downtown. The theme for this year’s parade was “create hope in the world,” according to the Bangor Rotary. Participants were encouraged to design a float or other parade entry that reflected hope and the joy it brings to people.
Dozens of vehicles decked out with brightly colored lights and scenes associated with the holiday season moved through Bangor before the event concluded with the official lighting of the city’s holiday tree in West Market Square.
