Greetings from beautiful Cornish. My letter is primarily to the Secretary of State Shenna Bellows. I was born in Maine and love this state for many reasons. Primarily, the beautiful outdoor resources, low crime and wonderful people made me decide to raise a family and retire here.
Anyway, Bellows’ recent action to block Donald Trump from the ballot was very disappointing. For one, I think she obviously was not acting on any legal basis as Trump has not been proven to be responsible for any insurrection as well as survived two impeachment attempts, which I believe were fraudulent and wasted millions of dollars.
Bellows’ apparent vitriol toward this former president with her former public remarks are no secret. She does not represent myself nor the majority of my neighbors with this stunt. And stunt is what we all believe it is. She quickly appeared on CNN and, I must admit, acted like she really believed in her opinions about the former president. I don’t vote the party line but vote for whomever I believe will best serve the U.S. Please don’t take away my democratic right to vote.
