A fire at the Admiral’s Ocean Inn in Belfast Monday night damaged the building and displaced 20 families who were staying there, according to the Belfast Fire Department.
No one was injured in the fire at the Route 1 inn, and all of the displaced families have been placed in alternative housing, the department said.
The fire, which started at 11 p.m., went from the second story through the roof of the two-story inn. Firefighters from Belfast and several nearby towns were able to contain the fire and damage to four rooms.
The Maine state fire marshal’s office is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
