So much good news on the Jan. 6 front page of the Bangor Daily News: 24/7 public bathrooms in Bangor and a new food pantry in Orono. These additions help the entire community.
Access to public bathrooms has been desperately needed in Bangor — not only for the homeless population (although this is the most crucial need), but anyone taking a walk and not near their home, and for visitors to our city. Availability of public bathrooms speaks volumes about community priorities. And, of course, another well-stocked and managed food cupboard like the one planned in Orono is simply a further way of helping those who are in need of nutritious food, whether it’s for the short or long term.
When we know the schedule, Faith Linking in Action will be sure to add it to the free food pantry calendar ( faithlinkinginaction.org) on our webpage, where there is also an up-to-date calendar for free meals in the wider Bangor area. Well done, Bangor and Orono!
