The man killed in a head-on collision in Portland on Tuesday has been identified.
Joel Adams, 62, of Cape Elizabeth was driving on Forest Avenue about 1:16 p.m. when he crossed the centerline and struck another vehicle head-on, according to the Portland Press Herald.
Adams died at the scene, a Portland police spokesperson said earlier this week.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 35-year-old South Portland man whose identity hasn’t been released, was taken to Maine Medical Center, where he was treated for broken bones and other injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police.
It’s unclear whether a medical event caused the crash, the police spokesperson said.
The crash remains under investigation.
