“Mainers meet to beat climate challenges,” or “Yankee ingenuity shines” would be accurate headlines, in my opinion, regarding Tuesday’s Maine Climate Council meeting. I was impressed!
Civic leaders from Stonington to Bethel shared reports on their communities. People from inland towns compared notes with people from coastal towns. The ever-important Maine Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), Maine Department of Transportation (DOT), and Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) weighed in too. And a Vermont official shared stories of both successes and challenges in their nearby state. It was time well spent!
