Police are searching for whomever fired several gunshots on Maine Street on Sunday night.
Multiple police called dispatchers about 8:26 p.m. to report hearing five or six gunshots around Maine Street and Atwood Lane, according to Brunswick Police Chief Scott Stewart.
A dark-colored vehicle then sped away toward town.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found numerous bullet casings on the road shoulder, Stewart said Monday morning.
It doesn’t appear that anything or anyone was hit by the bullets, according to the police chief.
The shooting remains under investigation.
