The father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been charged with driving while intoxicated.
Mahomes Sr was detained on Saturday night in Texas and his bond was set at $10,000 (£7,940).
The 54-year-old was released on Sunday, according to jail records.
His arrest comes before his son leads the Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday as Kansas City attempts to hold on to the title.
Mahomes Sr was arrested on the same charge in 2019 and was sentenced to 40 days in jail, records show.
He was also a sportsman, playing 11 seasons in Major League Baseball as a pitcher from 1992 to 2003.
