THOMASTON — Thomaston Public Library is excited to announce the launch of a new writing group aimed at fostering creativity and community among prose writers of all genres and skill levels. The writing group will convene on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, starting in February, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the conference room at Thomaston Public Library, located at 60 Main Street.
The writing group provides a welcoming space for writers to connect with others, share their work, receive constructive feedback, and refine their craft. The meetings are designed to be a unique blend of an accountability group, a feedback forum, and a platform for engaging writing exercises.
The structure of each meeting will include a check-in and updates on current writing projects. The first meeting of the month will be dedicated to “stretching your legs” and honing writing skills through prompts and exercises. The second meeting of the month will offer writers an opportunity to receive valuable feedback on their works in progress from the group. To ensure a productive feedback session, writers are encouraged to sign up for critique in advance via email.
This writing group promises to be an enriching experience for writers seeking a supportive and collaborative environment to nurture their creativity. Thomaston Public Library invites all interested individuals to embark on this exciting literary journey together.
For those interested in writing poetry, Thomaston Public Library also hosts the “Poet’s Corner” on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Poetry enthusiasts are encouraged to explore this dedicated space for poetic expression.
