Someone impersonating an officer used police-style lights to pull over a young man in Wilton before getting into an altercation with him.
A man was dressed like a police officer and driving a 1980s Oldsmobile Cutlass with a black and red vinyl roof and blue flashing lights mounted in the windshield, according to police.
The suspect activated the police-style lights to pull over a young man on Route 133 near the Jay town line on Tuesday.
The victim became alarmed by the suspect’s demeanor and got out of his vehicle, leading to an altercation, according to police.
The victim was not hurt.
The suspect is a white male in his 20s, approximately 5-foot-6, with a skinny build, according to police.
He was wearing a black uniform with an external vest. The uniform was new with no patches, badge, firearm or police gear except for a baton.
The license plate for the Oldsmobile Cutlass is unknown.
Police are investigating.
