Police continue searching for the suspects in the Friday shootout in downtown Saco.
The occupants of a gray Honda CRV and red Dodge Charger exchanged gunfire near the intersection of Elm and Temple streets about noon Friday, according to the Saco Police Department.
They then moved down Elm Street before crashing near the North Street intersection. The Honda CRV crashed into other vehicles, and the impact sent them colliding into an Old Orchard Beach school bus. No children aboard were hurt.
The shootout and crash prompted authorities to place nearby schools into lockdown and issue a shelter-in-place order.
Police initially said four people fled from the crash scene. On Monday, Saco police now say one of the individuals, who fled from the vehicles to Main Street near Dyer Library, was not involved.
Police also are searching for a third vehicle, which is dark colored and has tinted windows, believed to be involved.
Officers continue to execute search warrants on the Honda CRV and Dodge Charger.
