Katahdin of Sherman Station rattled off 25 unanswered points on Saturday night, paving the way for a 69-37 Class D North girls basketball quarterfinal victory over Central Aroostook of Mars Hill at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
The seventh-seeded Cougars, who had dropped two five-point decisions to the Panthers during the regular season, play No. 3 Wisdom of St. Agatha (14-5) in Thursday’s 10 a.m. regional semifinal at the Cross Insurance Center.
The Pioneers advanced with a 38-28 victory over No. 6 Bangor Christian earlier Saturday night.
Second-seeded Central Aroostook ends the season 12-7.
