BANGOR — Heart of Maine United Way announced that Versant Power and Versant employees surpassed their campaign goal, raising $126,000 for non-profits in Maine.
“United Way is so grateful to Versant Power, its employees, and the volunteers who put together another amazing campaign, said Heart of Maine United Way President & CEO Shirar Patterson. “They continue to be a cornerstone company, one of our top 10 campaigns and their support will help improve the lives of individuals and families in the Heart of Maine.”
HoMEUW team members and a number of Versant volunteers coordinated fundraisers and the campaign during safety week, sharing the impact support can make in the region. Versant employees and leadership responded generously. Fundraising activities included cooking contests, photo contests, guessing games and time-off raffles.
“The Versant Power team is passionate about making a difference in the communities we serve. In 2023, our company dedicated financial support to organizations throughout northern and eastern Maine with focus on energy affordability and basic needs,” stated VP Customer Operations Kendra Overlock. “We are thrilled that our annual campaign continually engages and inspires employees to give back to their neighbors through Heart of Maine United Way and United Way programs throughout our state.”
Funds were raised and will be used in the Heart of Maine six-county area and the Aroostook United Way region unless designated otherwise by donors. Gifts to HoME’s $1.73 Million campaign will help 1 in 3 people in need in our region. More than 100 companies across the region are engaged in HoMEUW’s campaign.
