A driver was killed Monday afternoon in a crash on the Maine Turnpike in York.
The driver was heading south in a 2023 Dodge pickup truck, near mile marker 7, about 1:45 p.m. when they left the road and crashed into trees, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The crash caused both the truck and several trees to catch on fire, Moss said Tuesday.
The driver, who was alone in the truck, died in the crash.
Moss said that the driver isn’t being identified at this time.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was immediately released.
