Portland police on Thursday arrested two youths suspected of trying to carjack a woman outside of a medical building in Portland.
The 64-year-old woman was sitting in her car in a parking lot near 161 Marginal Way when the two youths entered her car and made threatening comments, Portland police said in a news release. The youth in the front seat was allegedly wielding a knife.
The woman was robbed then got out of the car, according to police, who said the youths were unable to steal the car and fled, heading west down Marginal Way.
Police got the report at 10:05 a.m. They did not provide any additional details about the victim or the suspects.
The youths were found on Oxford Street after an extensive search, police said. Both were charged with robbery and brought to the Longcreek Youth Development Center.
Police said they believe the youths have been involved in other carjackings in the area.
