A driver was killed in a crash on the Maine Turnpike crash in York on Monday.
The driver was heading south in a 2023 Dodge pickup truck with two passengers, near mile marker 7, about 1:45 p.m. when they left the road and crashed into the treeline, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The crash ignited several trees, which firefighters extinguished, Moss said Tuesday afternoon.
The driver was killed in the crash.
The driver’s identity isn’t being released at this time, pending a positive identification.
The crash remains under investigation.
