Three people, including a Waterville police officer, were injured in a four-vehicle crash in Waterville.
The crash happened near the CVS Pharmacy on Kennedy Memorial Drive on Monday afternoon.
Officer Jake Whitley had his lights and sirens activated when a Honda CRV pulled out into the road, causing the police cruiser to hit the vehicle, according to the Waterville Morning Sentinel.
The Honda then slid into a Ford F-150 pickup truck stopped at a traffic light, which caused the truck to hit a Nissan Pathfinder also stopped at the traffic light, according to the Morning Sentinel.
Whitley suffered a severe cut on his head. The driver of the Honda and the driver of the pickup truck also were injured. They were all taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.
Both the cruiser and Honda were destroyed in the crash. The other vehicles were considered operational, according to the Morning Sentinel.
Winslow police are investigating, which is standard since the crash involves a Waterville officer.
