There was no hit-and-run on State Street in Bangor on Wednesday morning.
That’s what the Bangor Police Department is saying in response to social media chatter after someone was found lying in State Street.
The pedestrian was actually crossing the road about 5:30 a.m. when the person fell and was hurt, according to Sgt. Jason McAmbley, a spokesperson for Bangor police.
No driver hit the pedestrian and then fled, McAmbley said.
“There is nothing suspicious about this incident and there is no danger to the public,” he said.
The injured pedestrian was taken to the hospital to be treated.
