A man found dead Monday in a bus outside Waterville Junior High School shot himself, Waterville police said in a news release Wednesday.
Police received a report at about 4:30 a.m. of a person slumped over the steering wheel of a bus in the school parking lot.
The man was identified as Anthony Engelhardt, 24, of Naples. After an autopsy, the Maine Office of Chief Medical Examiner determined Englehardt died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police said Engelhardt had no known connection to the Waterville School Department, and it is unknown why he drove to that location.
