A Maine woman has set a new world record.
More than 3,000 miles away in Norway, North Berwick-native Mandy Sumner attempted the world’s longest swim under ice, which was 75 meters.
Sumner is a professional freediver who once swam for Sanford.
She was successful in her world attempt of swimming 75 meters under ice, which is about 246 feet.
