A former member of the Maine National Guard will spend four years behind bars for sexually abusing a young girl.
Aaron Engroff, 34, of Holden and previously of Augusta was convicted in January of two counts of the felony charge of unlawful sexual contact and one count of the misdemeanor charge of unlawful sexual touching, according to the Kennebec Journal.
Engroff was sentenced on Monday in Augusta to nine years in prison, with all but four years suspended. Engroff will face seven years of probation following his release.
The victim reported that Engroff had touched her on multiple occasions at his home in West Gardiner and at the home of a relative in Augusta in 2020, according to the Kennebec Journal.
The Kennebec Journal reported that Engroff enlisted in the U.S. Army and served 17 years in the National Guard.
