Chance Mercier of Ellsworth is your 2024 Mr. Maine Basketball.
Awarded by the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches at the Anah Shrine in Bangor on Friday night, Mercier beat out finalists Zach McLaughlin of Hampden Academy and Carter Galley of Oceanside.
The 6-foot-1 small forward led the Eagles to two Class B North regional titles during his tenure, highlighting one of the most entertaining offenses in Maine.
Able to guard all five positions, jump out of the gym and drive to the basket with confidence, Mercier averaged 21.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.1 steals this year.
Mercier won his second consecutive Big East Player of the Year Award last month.
