A Brewer man is facing multiple child pornography charges after police arrested him Friday, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
Aaron Astran, 31, has been charged with three counts of possession of sexually explicit material with a minor under 12 years old and one count of criminal attempt. His arrest followed an investigation by the sheriff’s office with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations and the Brewer Police Department, according to the sheriff’s office.
Astran had been on the Maine Sex Offender Registry as a 10-year registrant, the sheriff’s office said. In 2013, Astran was convicted of visual sexual aggression against a child and possession of sexually explicit material.
