I have a solution to Maine’s lobster trap lines/right whale deaths problem.
I want to give the intellectual property rights to the state of Maine. They can file for the U.S. Patent if needed.
The solution is very simple. No lobster trap lines. One, lobster boat goes out to a general area using GPS. Two, boat sends underwater code to the lobster trap. Three, inflatable bright orange air bags bring the trap to the surface (two to four airbags depending on contents weight). Four, bring into boat, deflate air bags and pack, replace CO2 cartridges, check battery, empty and bait trap, reset GPS coordinate, return to ocean.
This is the simplest version.
If Maine sets up a floating underwater telephone communication system in buoys, the trap can report on its contents, eliminating many wasted trips. Contents can be reported by weight, count, or both. This system can report to the lobsterman/woman or to the state for accuracy in harvest calculations.
This information can allow for areas to recover if needed and others to be harvested.
I can get a patent and make a lot of money selling the rights but I want Maine to benefit and speed up the process. I am a robotics draftsman and architectural draftsman. This will work and is very simple.
