BELFAST — What goes on when BelfastSwings! hosts a RABBIT RUMPUS? Wild and wonderful Lindy Hop swing dancing, of course.
You are invited to join the fun on Saturday, March 16 at the First Church in Belfast, when beginning and veteran swing dancers from the mid-coast and beyond take to the dance floor for this month’s RABBIT RUMPUS Community Swing Dance.
The event will kick off with a 6:30 p.m. lesson taught by Bethany Powell and Stefan Durham, veteran Lindy Hop dancers/teachers. The lesson will familiarize beginning dancers with some basic Lindy Hop moves to use while social dancing during the 7:30-9:30 p.m. RABBIT RUMPUS Community Swing Dance. No partner or prior dance experience needed. Admission is $15 at the door. Please bring clean shoes to wear on the dance floor.
Rumor has it that veteran Lindy Hopper Peter Cottontail and his intrepid dance partner Bunny (aka Little Fufu) will be making guest appearances at this warm-hearted celebration of almost-spring. Expect lots of great swing jazz and soul dance music at the March 16 RUMPUS, plus some dance floor tomfoolery to lift your spirits and inspire your Lindy Hopping!
Belfast Swings!, a non-profit community group, also offers weekly Lindy Hop classes on Monday evenings. For more about classes or the upcoming RABBIT RUMPUS, email [email protected].
