University of Maine freshman left wing Bradly Nadeau has been named to the Hockey East All-Rookie team.
Joining him on the team were Boston College’s Ryan Leonard, Gabe Perreault and Will Smith; Boston University’s Macklin Celebrini and Boston College’s Jacob Fowler.
Fowler is a goaltender while the other five are all forwards. Leonard, Perreault and Smith are linemates.

The team is selected by the league’s 11 coaches.
Nadeau, Leonard, Perreault and Smith are all 2023 first-round National Hockey League draft choices and Celebrini is in line to become the first overall pick in this year’s draft. Fowler is a third round pick.
Nadeau was chosen 30th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes, Smith was the fourth overall pick (San Jose), Leonard was eighth (Washington) and Perreault was 23rd (New York Rangers). Fowler was the 69th overall pick (Montreal).
Nadeau and his older brother, Josh, also a freshman, have had a major role in UMaine’s 22-10-2 season (14-9-1 in Hockey East) and third place finish in Hockey East after being picked ninth in the preseason coaches poll.
Bradly Nadeau leads the team in goals with 17 and shares the team lead in points with his brother with 41. Josh, also his linemate, has 16 goals and 25 assists.
His 41 points ties him for 20th in the country among players at 64 Division I schools and he is sixth among rookies with 41.
His four game-winning goals tie him for third nationally among freshmen.
His 31 points and 12 goals in conference games are good for seventh in both categories. He has three game-winners in conference games which is tied for fourth and second among rookies.
He leads the team in plus-minus at plus-20.
Players receive a plus-one when they are on the ice when their team scores an even-strength or shorthanded goal and a minus-one if the other team scores one.
His plus-20 is ninth in Hockey East and his plus-15 in conference games is tied for sixth.
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound native of St.-Francois-de-Madawaska, New Brunswick has registered at least a goal or an assist in 23 of UMaine’s 34 games and he has had 10 multiple-point games. He has two power play goals and a shorthanded goal.
“I’m really happy for Bradly,” said UMaine head coach Ben Barr. “Josh is just as deserving but there are a lot of really good freshmen in the league this year.
“Bradly is an elite player. He can score any time he shoots it,” said Barr. “Forty-one points for a freshman is really impressive.”
He added that the Nadeau brothers have made a dramatic impact on the program.
In other awards announced by the league on Wednesday, Boston University’s Cade Webber was chosen the league’s best defensive defenseman; Northeastern’s Justin Hryckowian was the best defensive forward; BC’s Eamon Powell and UMass’ Ryan Ufko were the co-sportsmanship award winners; Celebrini was the league scoring champion (23 goals, 21 assists, 44 points) and the three-stars award winner and Northeastern won the team sportsmanship award for fewest penalty minutes in league games.
UMaine was the runner-up.
