One person died and another was injured in a Windsor crash on Thursday morning.
The crash on Mud Mill Road was reported to the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office at around 3:12 a.m. When officials arrived, they located two people inside a 2012 Subaru Outback that had gone off the road and into some trees, according to Lt. J. Chris Read.
Shawn Donovan, 65, of China was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash after first responders attempted to administer life-saving first aid. An autopsy will be needed to determine Donovan’s cause of death, but an initial investigation has led officials to believe he experienced a medical event before losing control of the vehicle.
Donovan’s passenger, 42-year-old Jessica Hans of Augusta, was unconscious when officials arrived at the crash site. She was transported to Maine General Medical Center. It was not immediately clear on Thursday afternoon what condition Hans was in.
An investigation is ongoing.
