A man has denied assaulting former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane, who was allegedly headbutted at a football match.
Scott Law, 43, of Waltham Abbey, Essex, pleaded not guilty to a charge of common assault when he appeared at Highbury Magistrates’ Court in north London on Thursday.
The incident took place on 3 September last year after Arsenal beat Manchester United 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, where ex-Ireland international Keane was working as a pundit.
Footage on social media appeared to show Keane’s fellow Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards stepping in during an alleged confrontation.
Law was given unconditional bail until his two-day trial at the same court on 29-30 May.
