A Bangor elementary school has closed after a Monday morning electrical fire.
Abraham Lincoln School Principal Shannon Shaw described the fire as “small” and said that it was contained and not a cause for alarm.
The Abraham Lincoln School was closed for the day as a “precautionary measure” and to allow for a “thorough inspection” and “necessary repairs,” Shaw said in a Monday morning message.
“We understand that this may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption to your schedules. Rest assured, we are working diligently to address the situation and will keep you updated on any developments,” Shaw said in the message.
Shaw said that details about the reopening of Abraham Lincoln School will be released later.
No additional information was immediately available.
