A man died Wednesday morning in a house fire in St. George.
The man was found dead inside a burning home on Clark Island Road about 7:46 a.m. Wednesday, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The man lived alone at the residence, which is a rental property, Moss said midday Wednesday.
The body was taken to the Maine medical examiner’s office in Augusta, where an autopsy will be performed.
The victim’s identity isn’t being released at this time until police notify next of kin.
It’s Maine’s second fatal fire of the year.
