University of Maine senior goalie Victor Ostman, who lost his starting job to freshman Albin Boija, got the nod for Thursday night’s NCAA Tournament Springfield regional game against Cornell because Boija was sick, according to UMaine sports information specialist Katie Peverada.
Boija had started 12 of the last 13 games including the last nine.
Boija has a 10-6-2 record, a 2.01 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.
Ostman, an All-Hockey East second team pick last year, is 13-5-1 with a 2.79 GAA and a .894 save percentage this season.
Ostman last played in a 5-2 loss at New Hampshire on Feb. 17. He made 31 saves.
