Police say one person died after their car veered off the road and crashed into a body of water in Carroll Friday.
The crash occurred at about 9:30 p.m. near the area of 2445 Main Road, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office. People at the scene of the crash attempted to assist the driver of the car and provide medical aid, but the person did not survive.
The name of the deceased has not been released pending next of kin notification, police said. The accident is under investigation.
