A driver was killed Monday evening in a crash on Interstate 95 in Clinton.
The driver was heading north in a tan 2009 Ford Fusion in the passing lane on I-95, near mile marker 138, about 5:42 p.m. when they passed a white 2020 Ford Escape in the travel lane, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The driver of the Fusion then “quickly” changed lanes in front of the Escape, colliding with it and sending the Fusion off the right side of the road, where it overturned and collided with a tree, Moss said Tuesday morning.
The driver, whose identity isn’t being released pending family notification, died at the scene.
The driver of the Escape wasn’t injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
