PORTLAND, Maine — CBS 13 has obtained the autopsy report of Lewiston mass shooter Robert Card.
The document doesn’t contain any new information and confirms Card died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
It doesn’t include what time he died during the massive 2-day manhunt – which has been somewhat of an open question.
The autopsy confirms Card’s body was found at 7:45 on the night of October 27th, 2023 in a trailer at Maine Recycling Corporation in Lisbon.
A statement last year indicates Card likely died eight to 12 hours before police discovered his body.
But this final report doesn’t include that same information, it’s not clear why.
CBS13 filed a freedom of information request to get the autopsy but the station was denied.
The Card family shared the report with the New York Times, who is now sharing it with media outlets in Maine.
