Body found in Hampden along Penobscot River

A woman’s body was found in Hampden along the shore of the Penobscot River on Sunday afternoon.

The woman, whose body was discovered around 4:15 p.m., has not been identified at this time. An autopsy will be performed by the state medical examiner’s office to determine her cause of death, although her death is not considered suspicious at this time according to Hampden Public Safety officials.

An investigation is ongoing.
