I am disappointed, no, angered, by the Republican Party’s unwillingness to support Ukraine in its independence struggle with Russia, and by the silence of Americans across the country in reaction to that. Yes, I know the fault lies mostly with Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives. But I do not hear much protest from Republicans anywhere else, so I blame them all.
I wonder if the BDN might enlist a history teacher to write a story reminding readers of the role of France in supporting us against Britain during our own war of independence. Had our current Republican Party been in Paris in 1775, I think we would all be Brits today, subjects of King Charles III, paying taxes to him.
