Two men have been arrested after allegedly damaging cars and garbage cans across Bangor.
Zachary Skidgel, 18, of Plymouth and Michael Bowden, 18, of Etna have been charged with aggravated criminal mischief, while Bowden faces another charge for violating his conditions of release, according to Sgt. Jason McAmbley, a spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department.
Skidgel and Bowden allegedly damaged 20 to 30 vehicles and about two dozen garbage cans all across Bangor over the weekend, McAmbley said Wednesday.
Using doorbell camera videos, police identified the vehicle used in the vandalism, and officers found and stopped it about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to McAmbley.
Skidgel and Bowden, along with a third person, were inside the vehicle at the time.
The duo reportedly admitted to police that they caused the damage, which McAmbley said would cost about $3,000 to repair.
Skidgel and Bowden were taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
