Husson University PT students to help community members to learn more about overall health and improving quality of life
BANGOR — Husson University’s Physical Therapy Program is offering free physical therapy health assessments for adults this month at the SOARing Eagles Healthcare Clinic in Bangor during the 3rd Annual Husson Harmony Event.
The free assessments will be conducted by Husson’s physical therapy students and will cover balance, heart health, flexibility, posture, and more. Participants will also receive advice on lifestyle changes that could improve their health.
“Many people visit their dentist and primary physician for regular checkups but don’t realize how physical therapy can be beneficial in identifying early mobility issues and diseases before they progress,” said Dr. Kimberly Steinbarger, PT, MHS, DHSc, a professor at Husson University.
The free assessments will be available by appointment on April 15 and 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. SOARing Eagles Healthcare Clinic is located at 79 Marshall Road in Bangor.
After the assessments, those who are uninsured or underinsured can also receive free physical therapy treatment at the SOARing Eagles Pro Bono Healthcare Clinic. To make an appointment for an assessment or to learn more, contact Dr. Kimberly Steinbarger, PT, MHS, DHSc, at 207-941-7181 or [email protected].
