In the early days of April we have shoveled heaps of snow, picked up tree limbs downed by ice storms and gale force winds, gazed to the heavens for an awe-inspiring solar eclipse, and witnessed tides at astronomical highs and lows. Nature is getting our attention.
But don’t just focus on the big things. Witnessing marvels like salamanders slithering into ponds during Big Night or a spider’s web kissed by dew and dawn, can generate a feeling of awe. And that little three letter word does big things for our health. It takes us from a place of individual isolation, and collects us as essential components of a whole so vast and so united, that we feel meaningful.
Nature is our force of life. And being outdoors inspires, heals and connects us.
The Maine trails bond would fund the creation and maintenance of corridors through beautiful places, and pathways to adventure and discovery.
Maine youth need these places to grow into resilient and caring adults. Please support the Maine trails bond. It’s a path we must follow.
