The body of a man was discovered on the bank of the Aroostook River in Caribou on Tuesday afternoon.
The person’s body was found between the dam and Fort Street at around 1 p.m., according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss.
The man’s body has been sent to the office of the medical examiner, who will conduct an autopsy to determine the person’s identity and cause of death. Further details were not immediately available on Tuesday evening.
An investigation is ongoing.
